Biography

Award winning pianist Valentina Seferinova, recognised as a child prodigy, gave her first solo performance aged 8; and first orchestral soloist performance aged 12 with the Vidin Philharmonic in Bulgaria.

She studied at the National Academy in Sofia; later being appointed Assistant Professor of Piano Performance aged 27. Thus began a successful teaching career at the highest level which has continued for the past almost 30 years.

She has appeared as solo-recitalist, and soloist with orchestras working with Grammy Award winning conductors, across UK, Europe and Asia.

Valentina has gained a reputation of championing ‘long lost’ composers and their music. Soon after settling in the UK, she recorded the 1st ever CD of Joachim Raff’s piano music; “Ms Seferinova has a grand technique and plays brilliantly” (American Record Guide May/June 2003 issue Vol.66 No.3).

The rest is history – she has brought back to life many other forgotten scores included in her extensive 15+ CD discography released by Naxos, Toccata, Acte Préalable, Cameo Classics, Lyrita, Cahoots, etc and included in the play-lists of classical radio stations around the globe.
