About
Dr Ioannis Zeimpekis, is an Associate Professor in the Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton, leading a team towards the development of advanced materials, with a special interest in chalcogenides for electronic and photonic applications. He received his PhD in microelectronic systems design from the University of Southampton in 2012. His research spans the fields of electronics, photonics and material science. He has more than 16 years of nanofabrication experience and has worked with a wide range of materials and processes for applications including MEMS, biosensors and reconfigurable photonics. His current focus is on wafer scale processes for 2D materials and the development of novel low-loss phase-change materials for optoelectronic applications. Ioannis is the author of more than 60 publications in the field of electronics, photonics and material science.
You can update this in Pure (opens in a new tab). Select ‘Edit profile’. Under the heading and then ‘Curriculum and research description’, select ‘Add profile information’. In the dropdown menu, select - ‘About’.
Write about yourself in the third person. Aim for 100 to 150 words covering the main points about who you are and what you currently do. Clear, simple language is best. You can include specialist or technical terms.
You’ll be able to add details about your research, publications, career and academic history to other sections of your staff profile.
