About

A Senior Teaching Fellow in the Academic Centre for International Students, part of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Southampton.

Since 2016 my primary role has been as the lead on the English Language Stages, our suite of English language modules for international students, which run in parity with the modern language Stages delivered by the department of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics.

I am also part of the Skills for Business team, which provides academic skills development for international students in the Southampton Business School.

Other current roles include that of Pre-Sessional Coordinator as well as teaching language developmen on our joint Engineering programme with The University of Harbin in China. I also deliver in-sessional EAP modules for international students both within FAH and other faculties.

Previously, I led the Pre-Sessional programmes at Southampton for many years, worked as part of both the International Foundation Year and Pre-Masters programme teams and have been involved with our EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) courses.

I joined the university in 2008, after twenty years of EFL teaching and management abroad and in the UK. During this time I lived and worked in Istanbul for many years. I have also worked in teacher training within the FE sector, managing the delivery of a range of teacher training qualifications.
