Currently, my research is focused on home environments for the ageing population and UX research/design for digital products.

Biography
Dr Shan Wang is a lecturer in Design Management at the University of Southampton, where she teaches courses on design management and research methods. She received his PhD in Design and has extensive experience in the field of design. She was provided guest lectures and has given talks at several universities in the UK on topics related to Design Thinking, UX Design, and Inclusive Design. She has also been invited to speak at several conferences and events and shared her research and insights on the design for ageing and the importance of design in creating products and services that meet the needs of diverse user groups.
Shan's research interests include user-centred design, Design for Ageing, UI/UX design, and Inclusive Design. She has been involved in several research projects focused on creating innovative solutions for the ageing population. such as Art therapy for dementia; Ageing-friendly supermarket design; Smart healthcare products for ageing adults; and inclusive home environments for the ageing population, etc, In addition to her research on ageing, Shan led some design collaboration research with industries, supporting them to develop innovative and user-friendly products. Projects include UX design for knowledge management tools, Museum UX and interactive to enhance the visitor experience, etc.
In 2023, Shan awarded an AHRC IAA KEE Fellowship within the Technology Transfer and Impact Team of Research and Innovation Services (RIS)(0.5fte secondment). Her research is focused on designing inclusive home environments for the ageing population and user experience design for digital products.
