I am Principal Teaching Fellow in Academic Practice in the Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP). The remit of my role is to develop education and educators in the HE sector. I lead the strategy for educator development through academic programmes supporting academics to achieve a teaching qualification and through policy. My activity is largely centred on developing learning and education throguh evaluating teaching practice and through promoting the scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL). In the former area, I created and lead a team of evaluators whose work is centred on theory of change and its dissemination through train the trainers inititives; in the latter area, I lead the strategy for teaching excellence through a variety of local and national initiatives including the AHE Teaching and Excellence Awards (NTF/CATE) for the institution. I support women in leadership in my institutional role as champion of the Aurora Programme and I am an Auroran myself. I am CHEP representaive in university-wide trans-national education inititives where I oversee professional development support activity and networking.
