Module overview
Strategy is fundamentally concerned with decisions that determine the direction of an organisation and provides the context for short, medium and long-term planning. The highest level, corporate strategy, considers which activities an organisation should pursue while the second level, business strategy, focuses on determining how an organisation can compete successfully in its chosen activities. The final level, operational or functional strategy, is concerned with the how the day-to-day operations of a firm, e.g. sales, marketing, operations, finance, etc., can support the business strategy. This module concentrates on joining two fields: strategy and management science to support strategic planning at all levels.
