Having successfully completed this module, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:

• the purpose of the Residence Abroad Portfolio
• the tasks which you must undertake in preparation for the period abroad

• identify concepts and data relevant to the task in hand

• think about cultural differences as an asset
• select, synthesise and focus information from a range of sources in both English and your target language

Subject Specific Practical Skills

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

• plan and manage an extended period of residence abroad in one or two countries

In this module you will be made familiar, both in a theoretical and practical way, with all aspects of the period of residence abroad. This will include advice on living abroad and engaging with foreign cultures and briefing on the Residence Abroad Portfolio . You will be made aware of the importance of time management for your work and you will be given advice on how to do this successfully.
