This module is designed to ease the transition from A-level to the first year of a single or combined honours degree programme by setting out clearly what we expect of you at undergraduate level and equipping you with the resources to be able to operate at university level. We will introduce you to the relevant academic conventions and offer guidance on study skills which will enhance previously acquired skills and complement the advice given in ML content modules

The module will take the form of a series of short general presentations during Semester 1 focusing on using the library, reading and note taking, academic writing, academic integrity and responding to feedback. Students are encouraged to discuss more specific issues with their Personal Academic tutor and the coordinators of the modules which they are taking.
