Syllabus
The module provides the opportunity to develop and practise the communicative techniques necessary to play a key role in today’s dynamic creative industries. You will develop an in-depth awareness of genre, form and style, as well as how to critically engage with and/or contribute towards creative work across a range of media, including printed, broadcast, the visual arts and social media. You will learn the art of presenting and promoting imaginative and innovative ideas persuasively, with precision and clarity; a skill which is becoming increasingly valuable in the digital age. The module uses case studies from experts in the creative industries as springboards for discussion of a variety of techniques. Core sessions will be followed by workshops exploring their practical application, reflection and tutor feedback. The skills you develop on this course will enable you become an effective and valuable communicator in the creative global marketplace.
