Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

• Draw on research evidence and theoretical perspectives to consider factors that influence learning and teaching.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of perspectives on learning and teaching and the relationship between the two.

The content of this module will typically draw on a range of research evidence and theoretical perspectives on how children and adults learn in formal and informal learning environments. It will examine factors that influence learning and teaching such as personal perceptions of learning and teaching, debates on what is good teaching, and debates on the purpose of education and how that influences conceptualisations of learning and teaching in different educational contexts. Research on factors that influence learning and teaching at different education phases.

The module will be taught using a variety of teaching and learning approaches. These will include, where appropriate, lectures, group seminars, interactive teaching and tutorials.
