Joanne Ellison is a Research Fellow in the Department of Social Statistics and Demography at the University of Southampton. She is currently working within the modelling strand of the ESRC Centre for Population Change on the Connecting Generations project, focusing on developing inputs to kinship models. She previously worked on the project ‘Understanding Recent Fertility Trends in the UK and Improving Methodologies for Fertility Forecasting’ (FertilityTrends), focusing on designing forecasting models for fertility. She completed her PhD in Mathematical Sciences (Statistics Group), also at the University of Southampton. Her thesis focused on stochastic modelling and projection of fertility rates.
