About
Dr. John Tudor, CEng, CPhys, MInstP, MIET, is a Principal Research Fellow in the Department of Electronics and Computer Science at The University of Southampton.
John has undertaken research in MEMS, sensors and energy harvesting. However, since 2008, John has primarily dedicated his research to achieving printed smart fabrics. Projects have investigated a range of techniques for smart fabric printing such as inkjet, screen and dispenser as well as the realisation of numerous smart fabric devices such as for light emission and colour change. John has been an investigator or co-investigator in over 50 major funded research projects. John has 255 publications with 13, 042 citations, 12 patents, an h-index of 48, and an i10 index of 114.

Current research
Current research focusses on smart textiles or e-textiles for a range of applications (e.g. Medical, consumer, creative industries). The primary thrust is the printing of e-textiles through techniques such as dispenser, screen and inkjet. Underlying supporting research addresses ink formulation, microfabrication techniques and new materials.
