Book your right to study check

If you have a student visa, you also need to come to an in-person appointment to complete your right to study check. You can book your appointment after you have uploaded your documents. You'll also be able to cancel or reschedule your appointment, if you need to.

You must bring your passport to your appointment, as well as your your biometric residence permit (BRP) card if you collected it from the Post Office or it was delivered to your home address.

Book your in-person appointment

If you have a different visa or immigration permission, you don't need to come to an in-person appointment.

Collect your biometric residence permit (BRP) card

You can collect your biometric residence permit (BRP) card at the University during your right to study check appointment, if you chose this option when you applied for your visa.

If you chose to collect your BRP card from the Post Office, you need to collect it and bring it with you to your appointment.

If you applied for a new visa from within the UK, your BRP card will be sent to the address on your application.

eVisas

UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) are replacing physical documents with an online record of your immigration status, also known as an an eVisa.

If you have been contacted by UKVI to create an account, either by email or in a decision letter, please follow the instructions in the email or letter to set up your account to access your eVisa.

Once you’ve created your UKVI account, you'll be able to sign in to the view and prove service to access your eVisa.

UK Immigration ID check

When applying to study in the UK, you would have used the UK Immigration: ID Check app to complete the identity verification stage of your application.

If you used the app from inside the UK, you'll receive a biometric residence permit (BRP) card if you're a national of a country on the visa national list.

If you used the app from outside the UK, you can view your eVisa via your UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account.

If you don't know how to collect or show your BRP, contact our visas team.
