Your student ID card will give you access to facilities on campus including libraries and faculty buildings. It will be valid until the end of your studies. You should carry your ID card with you whenever you’re on campus.
Ordering your ID card
You need to order your ID card by 11:59pm, Sunday 15 September 2024 to guarantee that it will be ready to collect during our Welcome Weekend on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September.
What you’ll need
To apply for your ID card, you'll need to use your University IT account details and you must be enrolled.
You’ll need to upload a passport-style digital photo to your application. If you do not upload an appropriate photo, there may be a delay to the processing and collection of your ID card.
Collecting your ID card
If you are a student based at Winchester School of Art (WSA), you will be able to collect your ID card from Monday 21 October at The Student Hub at WSA, Building 63F, Park Avenue, Winchester, SO23 8DL.
All other student ID cards can be collected from The Student Hub, Building 37, University Road, Southampton, SO17 1BJ. We are unable to post ID cards to you as an identity check needs to be conducted as part of the collection process – you will need to visit us in-person to pick up your card. We will email you opening times and more details on how to collect shortly before Welcome Weekend.
You'll also get a digital version of your ID card in the MySouthampton app. This will be available from Wednesday 18 September, if you have ordered your ID card before the above deadline.
