Project overview

A project to facilitated the creation of a student portfolio that fostered engagement with Spanish language and the history as well as the culture of the City of Salamanca in Spain. The project started in the 2017-2018 academic year, with the students of Spanish abinitio group Spanish Accelerated Stages 1-2. The Project merited the Teacher of the Year award in Salamanca International Congress: Profesor Ele del Año in the V Congreso Internacional del Español en Castilla y León. Salamanca, Spain in 2018. This is an example of how building expectations before traveling to study abroad can ensure achieving learning outcomes through the creation of a student portfolio that focus on written and video production as well as on self-reflexion, prior, during and after the students’ intensive summer residential course in Salamanca, Spain.
