Biography

Catrice Pendleton is a post graduate research (PGR) student working towards obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), within the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her doctoral research is dedicated to understanding the impact of algorithmic decision making systems (ADMs) has on probation workers set within the risk assessment offender management process.

Before joining the University of Southampton she completed a BA in Criminology and Sociology at Bournemouth University and a MSc in Criminal Justice Policy at the London School of Economics. Whilst attending both universities she held various volunteer positions directly linked to the criminal justice system, such as a Court advocate for the Big Issue, Support Through Court Advisor and Research Consultant for the Restorative Justice Council. 

Prior to academia she worked within the legal professional services field as business development and strategy director. Working closely with external orgainsations such as The Law Society, Chamber of Commerce and Harvard Business School, where she obtained a professional diploma in 'Managing the Professional Services Firm'.
