About

Dr Gaby Pfeifer (CPsychol, FHEA) is an experimental psychologist with a background in cognitive neuroscience and biological psychology. Gaby's research focuses on interoception and ageing. She examines how the mind-body connection changes with age and varies across different personality types. Her work explores how these changes influence emotional experiences, cognition, and mental and physical health. To investigate these processes, she uses a variety of subjective measures along with behavioural and physiological techniques.

Gaby leads the Year 2 Developmental Psychology module and supervises students at various levels, including Bachelor's, Master's, PhD candidates, and doctoral students in the DClinPsych and DEdPsych training programmes.

As employability lead for Psychology, Gaby regularly speaks at public engagement events on career planning across the lifespan and advises students on work-based learning opportunities, internships, and placement year options.
