Jaimie is a medical sociologist with an interest in implementation science, and the role of social networks in personal health and wellbeing.
"Community connections and personal relationships are important in personal management of health and wellbeing"
She is currently leading the process evaluation for the UK arm of the European project 'Magnet4Europe'. This work tracking the implementation of Magnet principles in 14 UK Hospital Trusts builds on her previous work in the PALS study.
The PALS study (Project About Loneliness and Social Networks) aimed to understand how social networks might reduce social isolation and loneliness. PALS was a community-based trial. Jaimie led the nested study that examined the role and capacity of community and voluntary organisations in delivering public health interventions.
Jaimie has previously researched the process of implementation in community and voluntary settings, the role of social networks in decision making about antibiotic use and the role of social networks in self-management support. Jaimie also has experience in research with children and young people.
