In January 2020 Sadie joined the Space Environment Physics(SEP) group on their expedition to Svalbard, Norway to do research on the Aurora. You can read the expedition blog which is updated on all of the SEP expeditions at Soton Aurora Quest
Sadie was interviewed about her career and public engagement work on one of the best Astronomy podcasts in the world, The Jodcast
Sadie was previously a Science Correspondent on BBC Radio Solent and she has done several comedy performances at Edinburgh Fringe festival and in pubs in London and at at Bright Club Southampton

Sadie has project managed the SETI Cipher Challenge project for the last 4 years which is a schools event which combines both 'Media' and 'Science Research' elements.
She has written for 'The Conversation' an online academic magazine about the Rosetta Space Mission.
Sadie has also helped astronomy academics write press releases on their work.
The Astronomy Group here at the department of Physics and Astronomy have their own website which features current astronomy research and press releases.
Public engagement describes the myriad of ways in which the activity and benefits of higher education and research can be shared with the public. Engagement is by definition a two-way process, involving interaction and listening, with the goal of generating mutual benefit.
