Search Menu Commands

Find

This command allows you to specify a search string. When you choose Find..., a dialog box will open allowing the entry of a search and a replace string. When the OK button is clicked a search is begun following the inserting point for text matching the search string. If a match is found the text will be highlighted. If it is not found, the editor simply beeps. One option of the Find command is Ignore Case. When this option is checked, the editor's search and replace functions disregard case when performing the search.

Enter Selection

This command will place the current text selection into the search string. You can use Find Again or Find to search.

Find Again

This command will find the next occurrence of the search string. If a match is found, it will be highlighted. If it is not found, the editor simply beeps.

Replace

This command will replace the current selection with the contents of the replacement string.

Replace And Find Again

This command will replace the current selection with the contents of the replacement string, finds next occurrence of the search string but does not replace it.

Replace All

This command will replace all occurrences of the search string with the replacement string. You cannot undo this command.

Go To Line

This command will prompt for a line number. The current window will scroll to that line and selects it.
