Yun Luo is Lecturer of Finance at Southampton Business School and is a researcher in the fields of international finance, international business, financial integration, and banking sector risk and performance. Her recent publications include papers in Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Financial Stability, and International Journal of Finance & Economics.

Current research
Yun's research is question driven, aiming to provide new and innovative perspectives on central questions facing society: the origins of financial stability and excessive risk taking in financial markets, the link between rising debt and inequality, the past and future of globalisation.
Yun's current research topics include: analysis the impact of financial integration/banking sector mergers and acquisitions (M&A) on bank performance; evaluating the determinants of FDI such as institutional quality, intellectually property and FDI spill-over effects; and what is the social impact of financialisation, such as income inequality.
Yun prefers applied research because she is interested in uncovering what happens in the real world by letting the data tell the story.

Biography
Before joining Southampton Business School, Yun Luo was a Research Fellow in Centre for Business in Society at Coventry University.
