I used to use Toolbook a lot when I worked in Birkbeck College.

sadly www.asymetrix.com is long gone... but helped advance hypermedia. I re-wrote a Hypercard teaching package which was run on Macs in the 1990s in Southampton to Toolbook so it could work on PCs/Windows. This was later ported to Macromedia director as a commercial product - which is back in use in 2014!
