Dear Dominic,
It's very timely and welcome that RSP should take an interest in UK
Institutional mandates, but had you not noticed that there is (and has been
since 2003) an international Registry of institutional mandates, UK and
worldwide, hosted in the UK, at U Southampton, called
ROARMAP?

Would it not make more sense for RSP to begin by getting its data from ROARMAP
-- and to call for UK institutions to register any further policies in ROARMAP,
rather than trying to re-invent the wheel? ;.)

Dear Colleagues,
As a result of recent activities, the Repositories Support Project (RSP)
is interested in gaining a clearer picture of the current state of affairs
in the UK regarding institutions mandating deposit of research outputs in
institutional repositories and/or CRIS systems. Such 'mandates' may
manifest themselves as publication policies, deposit requirements, etc.
We would like to create a small library of such policies, and would
therefore like to ask UK institutions if you could send us a copy of your
policy documents if you have such a policy in place.
Please send any documentation to support_at_rsp.ac.uk (preferably as an
attachment, but otherwise a link will do). Please also indicate whether
or not you would be happy to make your documentation publicly available.
Please note that at this stage we are only interested in collecting copies
of approved, working policies. If you are currently involved in drafting
such a policy then please feel free to contact us as and when it comes
into practice.
The RSP is able to offer assistance in drafting such documentation - as
it offers support in all aspects of repository start-up and development.
Many thanks in asvance for your assistance.
Dominic
