This is to alert you to a forthcoming feature on Open Access on Radio 4 next
week - Tuesday 21st December. The programme makers did a number of
interviews with publishers and open access advocates and community figures.
They visited the Hallward here and interviewed Stephen.
They seemed to be covering the issues and although we do not know any
editorial "line", we hope that at the least, it will serve the raise the
profile of open access and by extension, our work with repositories.
The programme itself is on for 40 minutes, from 8:00 pm

20:00 Publish or Be Damned
Scientific publishing is undergoing a revolution, with scientists and policy
makers fed up that valuable research is being locked away in expensive
subscription only journals.
Now, writers of the material are launching their own competing journals and
giving away the results for free. But not everyone is happy. In Publish or
be Dammed, Richard Black examines each side of the debate and assesses the
likely consequences for science.
