Since the digital millennium copyright act was passed in the USA, something like
a Berne copyright regime has existed there. "Public Domain" is a myth, all
published material is copyright. it cannot be renounced. Alas, moral rights in
Britain under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act do not etend to individual
articles.
