Activities

Our range of outreach activities are all about sharing our passion for science.

Learning about marine life
Learning about marine life

Our outreach activities are aimed at helping the wider community in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to learn about the role oceans play in the Earth’s climate and the impact of mankind on their delicate ecosystems. The public can also find out more about the world-leading technology and research that is used to explore and understand our oceans and surrounding geology.

In addition to our scheduled outreach events and activities, we are always pleased to arrange for lecturing staff to visit schools to deliver thematic talks and practical exercises or demonstrations, or for school parties to visit the National Oceanography Centre Southampton to see science in action in the working environment.
