I currently convene stages 4 and 7 and teach on stage 5. I tend therefore to teach all years. I enjoy each module equally but for different reasons (focus on grammar, student interaction and reactivity, cultural discoveries, lexical acquisition, learning skills, etc...)
Director of the Centre for Language Study in Modern Languages and Linguistics at the University of Southampton.
After graduating in English and Anglo-American civilisation and literature from Bordeaux University, I took a Masters in FLE (français langue étrangère) at La Sorbonne University, Paris and did a PGCE at Homerton College, Cambridge.
I then came to Southampton University to work on a Master of Philosophy in Second Language Acquisition, Linguistics (awarded in 2003) and I started working as a French language Teaching Fellow soon after. I am now a Principal Teaching Fellow and keep enjoying working with Undergraduates, as well as supervising Postgraduate students working in the Second Language Acquisition area of Linguistics.
