Our group brings together engineers and computer scientists to discover new approaches to prevent, diagnose and manage health and medical conditions. Our research is end-to-end across digital health from sensors and meditech through to data science, AI and decision systems.

Our interdisciplinary research addresses a wide range of topics from fundamental research through to translational patient-centred research and innovation. Examples include:

  • control system design and rehabilitation technologies
  • lab-on-a-chip and microfluidics
  • biomedical signal processing and machine learning
  • wearable technology for healthcare
  • digital behavioural interventions
  • autonomous disease management
  • AI and health
  • data trusts for healthcare

Facilities

Researchers can make use of our dedicated multi-function biocontainment lab, the Centre for Hybrid Biodevices.

Our dedicated engineers and technicians respond to both research and industrial needs within our Nanofabrication cleanrooms.
